Arctostaphylos nissenana killed outright by July 1931 fire. Where soil is very shallow the only growth consists of A. nissenana seedlings; on the better sites, in addition to these seedlings, there is an occasional Dendromecon rigida and, in some areas, a rather profuse growth of Polygala cornuta and Hypericum concinnum. (Rule at 3 feet). Head of Martinez Creek, south of Diamond Springs.
